In early June we traveled East to visit Cathy in Ohio
and returned via Washington for a visit with Edward

We crossed Nevada on Route 50, the "loneliest road in the world". It is lovely but desolate.

Here are examples of a few of the 33 RV parks we stayed in on this trip.
Tiger Run Colorado at 9,000 feet (on the left) was beautiful and top quality.
WaKeeney Kansas KOA (in the middle) was a good typical KOA.
Topeka Kansas KOA (on the right) was poor.

As a result of the rains, dust and gravel in RV parks, the car quickly became very dirty.

In most of the RV parks we were able to receive email via WiFi connections.
Our travel times were often short, permitting a few hours of leisure each afternoon.

The contrast in RV parks was often great. In Delaware Ohio (left) we had a great site.
In Grafton Ohio (closest park to Cathy and Tim's) we were literally in a swamp!

Tim with brother, Roy and his wife, Sandy. We all enjoyed lunch at a local restaurant.

On the upper peninsula of Michigan we stayed at a park located on Lake Michigan.
It was very pleasant sitting beside the lake (the Makinac bridge is in the background.)

Both dogs explored the lakeshore but didn't venture far into the water.

Again some contrasts: the park in Caselton ND (left) was ugly and dusty.
The KOA in Billings MT was neat and clean and even had a patio and swing at many sites!

We visited the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the badlands of North Dakota.
Prairie dogs abounded and we could get quite close to them.
Ed, however, used the telephoto lens for the photo of the bison.

The Alderwood park (left) in Spokane had so much landscaping that we could hardly get into the site.
In Vancouver WA (right) they had new, larger sites in this park nearest Edward.

We visited with Edward on his deck.

The awning controller panel failed during the trip and we spent a day in Junction City having it replaced.
The technicians found leaks in the roof (manufacturing defect) that will require weeks of major repair.
So it's back to Junction City we go in August to leave the coach!
