Nothern Beaches
( June 2001 )

From June 3rd to June 15th, 2001 we toured a number of beaches in
California and Oregon. We began at MacKerricher State Park.

MacKerricher is located above Ft Bragg on the California coast.
It is our favorite CA "dry camping" location. Here was our "site."

The park has a beautiful ocean shore line. Other visits here are featured elsewhere in this web site.

An old logging road runs along the shore. This road is great for bicycling.

Lynne dropped her needle. This began a long search.
Talk about looking for a needle in a haystack! But we found it.

It was then up the coast to Oregon Beaches.
One of the best is Sunset Bay State Park - near Charleston, Oregon.
Here are two views of our RV site.

Sunset Bay has many rocky inlets and, of course, a lighthouse.

The most spectacular private park that we visited was Pacific Shores near Newport, Oregon.
Sites were very large, facilities were lavish (but we liked the state parks better.)

Here is a view from the parking area.

Pacific Shores also has rocks, a lighthouse....

...and, of course, spectacular scenery.
