The Getty makes a trip to
Los Angeles worthwhile.

This is the stairway from
the arrival plaza, containing
a tram station, up to the museum entrance.
On the left a pool near the West pavillion with marble boulders from California's "Gold Country".
Next is the end of a linear fountain where the water drops down into the formal garden area below.
Bougainvillea vines are just one of many magnificent plantings throughout the building site.

We had dinner in the resturant in the building on the left. On the right is another of
the gardens tucked between various buildings - this one features bird of paradise.

The formal garden (and a tourist) are on the left. Next is a view up toward the
museum buildings from the gardens. And another tourist in the garden on the right.

The spectacular south promontory contains a cactus garden that overlooks downtown Los Angeles.
When it's not smoggy (as it was the day we were there) the view must be spectacular.

The museum courtyard, on the left, with another linear fountain. There are beautiful architectural details everywhere. The front entrance to one of the 4 museum pavillions provides excellent reflections.

We were there long enough that
Lynne was becoming part of the
artwork.
