Liz and Rob during wedding
(This was to have been the "BOSTON" trip)

The intent of this trip was to spend a leisurely 8 weeks crossing the U.S. to attend Liz and Rob's wedding in Rockport, MA, to visit friends along the way and to come back via Hilton Head and the southern route.

We departed on September 15, enjoying the Western scenery

Our new traveling companion, Val, enjoyed Rocky Mountain National Park

Sometimes the "Lunch Stops" are not so attactive. Here is a
deserted gas station - restaurant in Daggett CA

We stayed, both on the trip out and back, at our most favorite state park ...
Fool Hollow, Show Low, AZ

We spent time exploring old route 66 - finding, that at times, it just ends!

Serious Problem OUCH!

On September 28 we had MAJOR damage to the transmission. For details return to the "Recent Trips" page and choose "Our Coach" and then "RV Troubles" -or - click on the picture on the left.

We drove, in Hi-Ho, back to Portola Valley (1,700 miles). Flew to Boston and back for the wedding. Then, on October 21, returned to Omaha with Hi-Ho to pick up the coach and complete the trip home.

Then the trip continued...

Lynne debated about taking the train back from Dodge City, KS

On our return all the RV Parks were quite empty. Here is Dodge City

Another example - Salina, KS

Due to the Sept. 11 event there were flags everywhere, including entire homes.
