Death Valley

( February, 2010 )

This is our 10th visit to Death Valley. Note that the sign is aging as are we.

We returned again to our favorite Furnace Creek camping site

During our yearly visit to the borax works Ed had an outfit appropriate for the mule train

It had rained the week before and there was considerable water on the valley floor

Despite the recent rain there was no water in the natural arch water chute

The rain did seem to intensify the soil colors

The rain also increased the reflectivity of the salt on the valley floor

The weather was mostly perfect (for February)

Of course we visited Salt Creek and the Sand Dunes

The RV parks on the return trip were a true contrast to the days of dry camping
