Death Valley

( February, 2001 )

During the week of February 4 we spent a week in Death Valley.
Silver (our RV) had her first opportunity to be below sea level.

Lynne and Drift view the valley from above. Ed takes his hat off to the Harmony Borax Works.

Ed studies the classical 20 mule team wagons (the red tank is for water.)
Lynne is next to the more modern steam (from coal) driven wagon.

We visited a broad spectrum of RV parks, ranging from an orange grove
in Bakersfield, CA to a desert view of Mt Whitney in Lone Pine, CA

Much of the trip was spent in truly dry desolate areas.
There were many magnificent vistas with 50 mile visabilities.
But there were also some high winds and clouds.
