Northern California
June in the Mountains and the Coast

Return to Trips Page  Return to HOME Page

It may be June, but snow is still being
cleared in the mountains !

In a number of locations VFR, Ed and Drift could go no further

At Lassen Volcanic National Park hot sulphur springs exist meters away from the snow drifts

Uncrowded sun and sand at the shore (Manchester State Beach)

Our favorite State Park on this trip was MacKerricher near Fort Bragg
Lake Almanor, formed from daming the Feather River, is also a lovely resort

Oroville Dam,on the left, is the highest earthen dam in the U.S.
Lake Oroville has been formed by daming the Feather River
On the right, Mad River and the bike bridge across it

Home again-our "killer" roses (Cecil Brunner) have been blooming for nearly two months!
